Fauxionable Outfit – Feeling Blue

Some days I can’t help but be a little matchy-matchy in my outfits. With the Spring-like weather, a scarf isn’t needed with my turtleneck top but I wanted to interject some colors to my otherwise boring outfit. The bright blue scarf was the perfect antidote to match the other shades of blues in my outfit!

Fauxionable Outfit – Red, White and Blue

Happy 4th to my fellow readers here in the US! In the spirit of American Independence Day, I decided to don red, white and blue for my outfit to run errands earlier this morning. I’ll also be wearing the same outfit this evening for a gathering at a friend’s place for some food and fireworks.

Fauxionable Outfit – Pearl Accessories

Instead of accessorizing this green dress with my usual brown or gold accessories (last seen here), I decided to dress up with pearl accessories instead. I have to share though that despite my hopes of coming across as classy with my outfit, I most certainly wasn’t as I realized half-way through lunch that I had grease stains all over the top left side of my dress! Yeap, grease stains were partying on my dress. I had to apologize to my dress since she’d been sitting in the closet this whole time since late Summer/early Fall only to be brought out on a mighty warm Spring day and be splattered with grease stains!

So, tell me if you’ve had an embarrassing moment like I did? :p And oh, Happy almost Friday!

Fauxionable Outfit – Midi Skirt

I wore this outfit sometime back when it was not as cold (completely subjective!) and recently recycled this outfit with warmer wool tights. I tend to stick to dress pants for work during the colder temperatures, only wearing skirts and dresses for certain occasions, weather-permitting. I decided to give the midi skirt a try this winter in an effort to maximize my wardrobe and minimize cost per wear (although this pretty skirt was a gift).

Yes, it’s another blue & red combo outfit. I just tend to stick to the tried and true, and this includes color palettes. Having a blog is challenging me to be more creative in pairing different textures and prints, but I’m just not quite there yet, color palette-wise!

It has also been really windy here in DC and my animated gif is proof! 😉 The wind is supposedly going to make its presence felt throughout this week and it’s forecasted to snow (up to 5-6 inches) tomorrow. Yes, snow in March. Can you tell how excited I am? (if only!) Spring, please hurry up and be here already!

Are there color palettes that you tend to adhere to?

Fauxionable Outfit – Blue & Red

Aside from black and white, blue and red is another combination that I favor (see here, here, and here). This outfit is yet another travel uniform with the essential jeans and turtleneck. I usually pair this dress with tights but decided to pair it with jeans instead, styling it more as a tunic than a dress.
