I have resisted from buying printed pants for the longest time. When I did warm up to the idea, I couldn’t find any that were within the price point I’d like to pay or those within my budget were ill-fitting. I first spotted these Banana Republic Hampton cropped pants a few months back and went to the store to try them without much expectations. To my surprise, they fit my straight/boyish figure pretty well and the material was thick and comfortable. Since I’m not one to purchase items at full price, I waited for it to go on sale while checking in on my size online every so often. Nope, no sale and my size has sold out. Since BR often has promotions, I decided to take the plunge and hunted down a pair in my size and had them put it on hold since I couldn’t get to the store till after work while I purchased a size bigger during the promotion at the store near work (it was 40% off for a power lunch sale that’s only 3 hours). And so I caved, and here are my first pair of printed pants (even if they were more than what I’d like to pay for but no matter since they fit well!) I do want to note that not all Hampton cropped pants fit the same since I tried on a few different prints and none of them actually fit as well as the ones I bought, i.e. looser fit.
Will these be my last pair of printed pants? Nope. I did purchase another pair from The Limited but I’m still on the fence about it. Perhaps I’ll post a picture of it this weekend to get some opinions on the fit. How many pairs of printed pants do you have? 😉
It has been a tragic week with the bombings at the Boston Marathon and today, at the Texas fertilizer plant. My thoughts and prayers goes out to all the victims, their loved ones, and those living in the surrounding areas.
I rarely wear a black outfit for I think it only serves to emphasize how skinny I am but on the rare occasion of not knowing what to wear, one can always fall back to wearing an all black outfit! I decided to play with textures for this black outfit to keep it a little less boring and chose to pair the outfit with oxfords to balance out the bow, ruffles and pleats.
It is still somewhat cold here for Spring and I am resisting from wearing sweaters, so I opted to layer this ZARA shirt with embroidered flowers(love this knock-off shirt of Louis Vuitton from S/S 2012) underneath a cardigan instead. My instinct is usually to pair blush/nude color with neutrals (usually black) but I decided to experiment with a bold color and kept the rest as neutrals. Well, part of the challenge of style blogging is experimenting with outfits anyway, so.. 😉
It’s officially Spring today and it’s nicer out yet weather forecasts has it that we’re expected to get rain/snow showers tonight. Well, all I can say is, at least I’d be home by then and tucked under covers!
In celebration of Spring, I’m wearing a stripe-printed skirt with pretty pink/coral colors. Love the pleats (can hardly ever resist pleats!) and the flare cut of the skirt. Also, the pockets are fantastic! I’m pairing it with a lace dress worn as a top to link up with Marionberry Style’s Trend of the Month: Lace.
Just a quick outfit shoot for it was one of those Tundra-like days! I rarely wear gloves unless it’s bitter cold out, so that should explain the lack of gloves with my winter outfits. Yes, I have Winter blues and can’t wait for the warm & humid weather in a few days!
