When I first spotted this giraffe striped sweater last Fall, I quickly went to assess the fabric and quality of the sweater. While it was slightly thinner than I did like, I couldn’t help but add it to my wishlist as it had both things that I like – giraffe AND stripes! (I previously shared why I love giraffes here.) Having shopped in Banana Republic for a while, I knew they had 40% off regular items on every Wednesday, so I patiently awaited for their next promotion/sale to purchase the sweater. I didn’t have to wait too long for the sweater was marked down in the span of two weeks! (Fast fashion, anyone?) Ah, patience almost always pays when it comes to shopping for me. 😉
Thank you to all of you who chimed in on the previous post! While I was previously leaning towards keeping the skirt and returning the dress, I think you’ve all convinced me otherwise.
Since moving to London, I’ve been living in my jeans. I also find myself constantly reaching for the same few sweaters or shirts. To remedy that, I decided to wear a skirt instead when G and I went to check out the Picture This exhibit at the British Library. However, some old habits are hard to change. Case in point: my monochrome outfit paired with red accent. (It’s one of my tried & true formula – e.g. see here, here, here, and here.) While blue was my favorite color growing up, red has taken over these days. I find red to be the perfect pop of color against my neutrals, not to mention it’s a festive color for most holidays. (Xmas, New Year’s, Chinese New Year, Valentine’s Day… you get the drift.) Over the years I’ve amassed quite a number of red accessories to accent my outfits – the perfect red bag, earrings, shoes, and the latest being my wallet. Needless to say, red is my favorite accent color. What is yours?
As posted here, I planned on placing an order on Kate Spade Saturday items with their Friends & Family sale yet, I got carried away with hunting down the navy gingham pair of Keds for Kate Spade in my size that I forgot to placed my order! Oh well… In any case, I’m very pleased to finally have nabbed these pretty sneakers with 25% off. I’ve received many compliments and they are uber comfortable!
I wore this outfit some weekends ago to run errands and just realized that I didn’t get around to posting it. I absolutely love this H&M sweater and it’s the only piece of clothing I’ve bought during my clothing ban to replace an older sweater. I had a coupon and scored it for only $9! It is made of 90% acrylic (yes, I know it’s material to be avoided but I plan on dry cleaning it) and 10% mohair and definitely keeps me warm and cozy!
Sweater: H&M 2012
Vest: DKNY F/W 2006
Jeans: J Brand Mid-Rise 805 Straight Leg in Ink (similar)
I have been really good on my self-imposed shopping ban. I have not bought a single fashion item since March 20 (I just checked my credit card statements)! I have been spending on birthdays for my friends as I do not celebrate Xmas and am thus more generous with birthdays.
Granted, I did splurged and bought a brand a spankin’ brand new phone the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, an upgrade in mid-April.
My current messenger/sling bag isn’t in such a good shape thanks to color transfer from my jeans. It was an 2005 Xmas gift from my beloved twin cousin and I am thinking an upgrade is in order? From fabric to leather and of course from Esprit to Marc by Marc! Hee.
I definitely like the Flash Kelsey for the dual function of being a cross-body bag and a hobo just by adjusting or rather looping up the strap. The zippers also give an edgy vibe to this casual bag which I absolutely adore. The retail price of $358 however leaves me dreaming for one as the scrooge in me just will not allow me to purchase this bag full price. Maybe a 25% discount or more will have me pulling the trigger on this baby. Until then, it shall remain as a lemming.
