We finally had a real proper Spring weekend, where we had a Spring day with sunshine and a rainy, misty Spring day, the next. I’m loving the weather and have no complaints! Here’s my outfit from the weekend incorporating two trends for this Spring – floral and stripes.
Today’s outfit is a nod to this Spring’s trend of monochrome and stripes, a combination that I absolutely adore and embrace with my whole wardrobe! Let’s just say I have one too many black or white garments and oh, let’s not count the striped items I have. 😉 For once, a trend that isn’t really one to me! And yes, I couldn’t resist the pleated striped skirt on sale at The Limited.
While most of my peers adored the TV show Sex and the City, I had never watched a single episode for I can’t quite stand Sarah Jessica Parker. So, while most are familiar with Marc Jacobs through that show, I wasn’t until I decided to purchase my first designer bag back in 2007. Why? Because it was his bag that I fell for (aside from Chanel but the price point was way out of reach)!
Needless to say, I have a soft spot for him and I was quite pleased when we stumbled upon one of his exhibit, the Marc Jacobs Iconic Showpiece Exhibition on our last day in Hong Kong. We had just finished afternoon tea at MO Bar of The Landmark Mandarin Oriental and were wandering around at The Landmark mall where we chanced upon this exhibit.
The exhibition was conveniently placed near the Marc Jacobs store, and this is what was on display while I was there.

Love all the bright, cheerful window display at the store and it makes me want to dress for proper Spring weather! Sadly, I’m still patiently awaiting for Mother Nature to allow us some Spring weather for more than a day or two since it snowed yesterday. Ho-hum.
This was this past weekend’s outfit (yes, I wore the same outfit twice!) to run errands. I’m taking baby steps towards mixing prints (as mentioned here), and in this outfit, I relied on polka dots yet again, which I consider relatively neutral, mixing it with some splashes of yellow print for Spring.
I also finally wore my Valentino Noir Rockstud this past weekend and was super careful so as not to scuff them! They didn’t require any breaking in and was fairly comfy for me. Now if only I get the pair of kitten heels as well…
I couldn’t quite resist this H&M turtleneck cable knit sweater although I had just not too recently bought the similar round-neck version. Of course the price made it easy to decide whether to buy or not. I found it at the clearance section for $10 and I happened to have a $5 gift card from a promotion that they had. $5 for a sweater? Sold. Might I add that it kept me warm and cozy? 😉
