I love this H&M blouse that I bought back in 2006. It originally came with basic black buttons but I switched them out for pearl buttons for a more polished look. I usually wear it on its own with a camisole layered underneath as it’s a sheer fabric but since I resolved to maximize my wardrobe, I decided to layer this underneath the ZARA draped bird print dress that I recently scored on sale for today’s outfit. A subtle mixing of prints, as I’m still experimenting. Baby steps!
As mentioned here, it’s our company’s Xmas holiday party this evening, and I decided to keep to the same color scheme as the previous outfit – navy and red. I am however, incorporating mixed prints to it, stars and polka dots, both classics in my book.
On a side note, I am still trying to get back to my regular schedule on blogging. It has been rough as October was a bittersweet month filled with good and less-than-stellar memories. Also, it doesn’t help that the day is getting shorter and a lot of times there isn’t much light in the morning let alone evening!
In any case, kindly bear with me as I work my way back into my regular schedule. I still have my New York and Paris trips to blog about that I am getting behind! Well, hopefully I’ll be able to sort through them this weekend.
One of G’s uncles has an annual clam bake/surf and turf family event and I was invited to tag along this year. We took the Amtrak train up to New York early in the morning and arrived at his uncle’s place in the afternoon. Being the glutton that I am, I had a grand time stuffing myself with lots of seafood and it was nice to meet G’s relatives. Here’s some pics to share…
The adorable lobster light decors
Lobster guarding the alcohol!
Lobster claw wine stoppers
Salad, hot dog, and of course lobster for main course(while waiting for the main course I had wolfed down one too many clams and jumbo shrimps & forgot to take pics of it!)
We were supposed to spend the night in a hotel nearby but there was a snafu with our reservation. The hotel was overbooked and there were no rooms left for our reservation. Luckily, G’s relative who offered us a ride to the hotel took us in for the night! It worked out well since she lives in the city and we had plan on going into the city the next morning to walk around. I’ll blog about that in a separate post!
Quick run to the mall for some lunch at Elevation Burger in a stripes & polka dots outfit (again!).

I love the Old Navy polka dot scarf that I bought last month as it is much softer than the Ann Taylor scarf that I originally wanted. In my opinion, here’s a case where the “beer budget” truly won! Definitely packing this with me for my Fall vacation!
