Fauxionable Outfit – Teal with Yellow

Now that it’s slightly warmer, it’s time to bust out my dresses again. I wore my teal maxi dress (worn here) for casual Friday and also to a housewarming party this past weekend albeit slight tweaks on each day. Paired the outfit with my Keds for Kate Spade on Friday and didn’t wear a belt to the housewarming party since I knew I’d be binging and stuffing myself silly. ๐Ÿ˜‰

By far, I tend to pair teal either in the same color palette with greens or in this outfit teal with yellow. Does anyone have any suggestion on any other color combination? I tried pairing it with my navy blazer but it didn’t look any good, just dreary hence the gray blazer. I’d love to try some other color combo in the near future aside from neutrals and would appreciate any suggestions. ๐Ÿ™‚

Fauxionable Outfit – Maxi Dress

Hello from sunny Malaysia! ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope those who got hit by the Nemo storm are doing okay. I’m sending you sunshine from here!

For the longest time, I have resisted from buying or owning any maxi dresses as I thought it only made me skinnier than I already am. I definitely however changed my mind once I bought a long dress/gown for a company event (it was just all in my head!). I now own two maxi dresses and I packed along this maxi dress for my trip which I just bought recently.

The lightweight cotton is perfect for humid weather and it was also easy to pack i.e., not taking much space. Shipping arrived rather quickly from Nasty Gal (I know, what a name!) and priced at $38, I think the dress is reasonable for its quality and being made in the U.S. I think I’ll be layering it under a sweater when I return to the cold weathers but I foresee myself wearing it quite a fair bit come Summer! ย ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope you had a good Thanksgiving holiday and here’s to a great week ahead!

Fauxionable Outfit – Flyaway Friday!

Today was slightly warmer than the past couple of days, so here’s an outfit post where I’m not all bundled up, and just wanna hide under the covers!

Fauxionable Outfit - Flyaway Friday

Fauxionable Outfit - Flyaway Friday!

I centered this outfit around the teal wool cape-like vest sweater that my sister bought for me. (Cape = fly, thus the title of my post, get it?) My lovely sister has a habit of buying clothes for me and she gave this to me during her visit recently. (The last time I went home, she had a stack of clothes that she bought just for me from all her travels. Do I have the best sister or what?!)

While I might not have purchased this for myself (I tend to shy-away from trends), I enjoy pairing it with what I have and have paired it with multiple outfits in the past week! I love the buckle on the neck which lends an equestrian style to it and teal compliments my skin tone well. This has quickly become a favorite item for me this Fall (which feels very much like Winter already!) and I foresee myself wearing it a lot!

Do you have any cape-like garments in your wardrobe? How do you style them?

In any case, Happy Friday!
