Fauxionable Outfit – Purpley Prints

It’s much warmer today, or rather the weather is more apt of Fall with a high of mid-60s. Thus, a lighter coat and since it’s a Federal holiday – Veteran’s Day – I’m wearing jeans to work on a Monday! (I work for a government contractor, so Federal holiday = no clients)

Fauxionable Outfit - Purpley Print

I usually pair this top and scarf together as a go-to outfit but decided to add the argyle vest into the mix and mix prints together. Since it’s all different shades of purple, I think it worked out pretty well. That or maybe I’m biased!

Hope you have a great week ahead!

Fauxionable Outfit – Black & Yellow

Yes, I do realize that it’s September but the weather here in DC is still somewhat sunny and warm like it’s Summer, thus I’m dressing according to the weather! (just trying to enjoy & savor every bit of the Summer weather, really.)

Fauxionable Outfit – Black & Blue Pleats

Another favorite of mine is pleats, and here is an outfit with pleats on both the top and the bottom.

I love pleated skirts and can’t quite get enough of them. I’m glad that they are back in trend as that enables me to stock up! Heh. That aside, this $5 shirt from H&M Men is awesome. It’s cotton but not wrinkly and I even have one in white! What can I say, I love black and white. And oh, let’s not forget the classic tuxedo pleats, too.

Do you like pleats?

Fauxionable Outfit – Burgundy Wednesday

As mentioned here, burgundy will be one of the main colors for Fall/Winter this year and I couldn’t help but pick up this H&M dress in a classic cut (despite on a clothing ban!). I have been eying this dress since it was featured on H&M’s site and been checking out the stores frequently for it. I finally picked it up when I read ExtraPetite.com’s review on it. Love the invert pleats on the neckline, the cap sleeves, and the key hole on the back (not shown).

I love swing dresses and this mint H&M dress is just fabulous. It’s so Mad Men-ish! I have received many compliments on it, too. I have also been looking for a black statement necklace but have been very frugal about shelling too much for it. I adore the Adia Kibur black statement necklace but couldn’t justify paying $72 for it and it sold out quickly on ShopBop! (*UPDATE: It’s back in stock!)

I was therefore very happy when I saw the black statement necklace at H&M at $14.95 for a fraction of the price of the Adia Kibur statement necklace. (they had a similar version in light pink earlier in Spring but I passed since I wasn’t a fan of pink but this is perfect!) Granted, the quality is probably a stark difference but I am happy with my frugal find!
